BARNARD is a 80s & early 90s inspired New Wave/Electronic Pop project featuring the compositions of Melbourne Drummer, Producer & Terminator 2 fan-boy, Alex Barnard. His life-long obsession with old-school cult action films including First Blood, The Terminator, Blade Runner & Robocop, and their epic instrumental soundtracks, combined with his love for 80s music juggernauts Tears for Fears, Phil Collins, Mr. Mister & John Carpenter has ultimately led to the creation of Alex’s first solo project. Characterized by incredibly cheesy, yet undeniably epic synthesizer generated melodies, nostalgic string pad harmonies & thunderous bass lines & drum grooves, BARNARD is a project that should keep every old mate who still watches film on VHS happy. Since the beginning of 2016 when he released his first demo single “Dudes & Dynamite”, Alex has steadily uploaded a number of demos on SoundCloud, including a few whilst travelling across the USA & Canada on a three-month nostalgia trip. In January 2017, BARNARD released his long awaited debut single entitled “Doom in 118” which is available on all major streaming applications.
