This album was recorded in just a day at Chicago's North Branch Studio. The songs were written during Emily's early 20's, when she obviously was exposed to the world of gypsy jazz and blues. Traces of Django Reinhardt, Sonny and Terry, and Big Mama Thornton run through the album, musicians she was introduced to while working at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. Crowd favorites are "Potent One" and "That & More." "Cherry Blossom," which drips with sensuality and emotion, placed in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the R & B category.
