简介
I hail from Edo state, Nigeria, West Africa. Well apart from God and natural events that occur in a person's day to day life, I listen to all kinds of music. From bob Marley, 2pac, Adele, sia, to Mariam makeba, Majek fashek to micheal Jackson and then fela anikulapo kuti. That's just a summary of the whole lot that I listen to. And I draw inspiration from these greats because music is much more than just dance. There has to be substance and message that is able to impact the listener enough to make that person go home with a strong positive message. I put NUMBER ONE together because i know we all need motivation in a world where we keep forging ahead in spite of the setbacks and falls. I am working and almost done with my second studio album and if you have the chance to listen to my kind of music, you would understand that I do conscious music. I believe music is a very powerful instrument for positive change. Everybody has got some certain challenges at some points in their daily living. And there's no better way to fight a challenge or uplift the body, mind and soul like listening and singing along to an anthem of some sort. Number one is a deep worded song that is rendered in "pigin English" which is like a general language in West Africa but spoken both in the streets and in high cooperate places. So the rest of the world can also get the message because you will hear some words that are English simply saying I am number one. It's a message of hope and self belief. Telling yourself that if you will win any "battle" you are fighting is all in your hands. The mind is our greatest asset and the most viscous opposition so if you can teach your mind to understand that it can get out of any tight spot no matter how impossible it looks then you on your way to be a great individual. Number one is that kind of song that the Africans and the World need to listen and make an anthem of it. Anogiri
