简介
Swedish band records exclusive material by Jim Ford The legendary singer-songwriter Jim Ford was Sly Stones best friend and wrote for artists like: Bobby Womack, Aretha Franklin, Nick Lowe and The Temptations. In 1969, Jim Ford released the album "Harlan County", which among music lovers today, is considered to be one of the best masterpieces in rock history. The album didn't sell too well when it was first released but its reputation and superiority has grown every year since then ("Harlan Country" was reissued in september 2011 by the American label Light In The Attic and is now receiving top reviews in publications like Mojo, Uncut, Spin and Rolling Stone). Jim Ford was "missing" for almost 40 years when German label Bear Family managed to track him down and found him in a trailer park in northern California. In his modest home, the charismatic and hugely talented singer/songwriter had tons of unpublished demos (some of which were compiled for anthologies and released with huge success by Bear Family Records). The young Stockholm based alt-country act Southern Skyline are big fans of Jim Ford. So big in fact, they have managed what only a few other bands could dream about: they managed to get their hands on two unpublished Jim Ford songs for their repertoire!!! "Candy Love" and Country Soul, Rock'n'Roll" are written by Jim Ford but have never before been published. Many bands would probably sell well-chosen body parts to sink their teeth into something that exclusive. Southern Skyline is now in the studio working on recording their debut album which is planned for release during the spring 2012. They have already toured USA, Canada and played this year at Sweden's biggest festival, Peace & Love, and are armed with a voluminous catalogue of original material.
