I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's always interesting to open up an e-mail and find information about an album that my editor has recommended for me. This time around it's David Adam Byrnes, one of those little-known indie acts who doesn't yet have a placeholder entry on Allmusic. He's currently having some success on the Music Row Chart with the single "Sweet Distraction,"(at 23 the week of album release) and now he's got a full album out. And I can see just why it was recommended to me: in the past, most of the indie artists I've discovered are all about unpretentious, meat-and-potatoes country music. Byrnes delivers just that on his generous 14-track disc.
