We were thrilled when Kemo invited us to Chin's studio space in downtown Vancouver for the first time in November of 2014. We didn't know what to expect; whether we would be writing and recording a song with him on the spot that night, or taking a beat or two back with us to our own studio. We definitely didn't expect him to send us home with with over 20 beats to work with. Once the beat selection process began however, we did know that we were being given enough material to turn into a project. 'Rest In Power' the closing song on the record, was recorded on the very night we met with Kemo. We got home, went straight into the lab, wrote it and recorded it. The rest of the songs were created in the following couple of weeks. With that we bring you this EP, our collaboration with legendary Vancouver producer, DJ Kemo. The EP opens very industry and hiphop focused, but takes a more social and personal turn towards the tail end. KIDS x DJ Kemo, Vol. 1. That means more is coming.
