I was deep into the songwriting for this album and was struggling with how to put a particular feeling into words: the hope I felt when I lost two people very close to me to chronic diseases. As our flight ascended, we finally burst through the storm clouds and emerged into the brilliant light of the glorious sunrise, unseen from the ground below.
