Valetta Cheathon a soprano soloist with a voice described as beautiful, stimulating, and with delivery right into the stratosphere! God has given her a powerful gift to sing his praises, to exalt his name and to use her God given voice to minister to the world “We Need Jesus, and we need Him now! She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 1963 relocated in Sacramento, CA., where she now resides. Her unique style has provided many singing engagements. In 1990 Valetta performed with the Sacramento Symphony. She performed several Martin Luther King Projects, “Cabin in the Sky”, “Raisen”, “Gospel of Colonus”, and “And The Dream Goes On”. She delivered an unforgettable performance for the California State Senate, singing a simple hymn. She has traveled across the country with the Sacramento Community Choir, and to Stockholm Sweden, with Clarence Eggleton & Friends, with the Metropolitan Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. Participated with Edwin Hawkins Seminar choir, “Earth, Wind and Fire”, Michael Buble, and Jeffrey Osborne. Valetta attended USC Conservatory of Music, in Los Angeles, CA. Besides singing , her ministry includes accompanying on the organ/piano, teaching and directing choirs and now musician at a local church. She accompanied on piano in a Production written about Regina Louise’s life “Someone’s Somebody. She has recorded with several gospel singers in the community, served as a music director for three Baptist churches, that her husband is the pastor. At a very young age performed recitals with cousin, Alex Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA. Valetta is married to Pastor Clifford Cheathon, Sr. She has three musical talented sons, Lance, Terrell, and Tracy Carter who is the. mastermind, the writer, the producer). She as four adorable grandchildren, whom she simply adores. Loves spending time with them. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, shopping, sewing, and the roller coasters at the amusement parks. Valettta still believes that God has great work for her to do, to help those in need and to be a blessing to others while on her journey.
