Raising My Intellect As you grow in knowledge and financial wealth you will notice you start to gain more and more new "friends". This song is about seeing through relationships with a agenda. CJ Emmons Killed the vocal arrangements and added lyrical content that really drives the point home. This song pays homage to George Clinton and parliament Funkadelic with the bass line and Lawrence Peavey (Bay Bay) just sums it all up in his poetry right before the vamp out. There are a lot of musical exploration I wish to pursue. I wish that the song inspire others to want to make music. Its a great way to express anything. GAIN We all live in the rat race of survival. We all want to make money so we are not poor. Have you ever thought that some people are so poor that all they have is Money? Gain is about spiritual riches. It uses a heavy bass tone to impact the weight of how important a healthy mind is in comparison to a wealthy wallet. Jasmine Lee lends her R&B flair to this track so smoothly. Listen to her on the bridge when it's just her and keys. I was like "Wow" when I heard this. High Like Kites I wake up every morning every grateful that making music is how I survive. I love music so much that music itself can't express how grateful I am. This song catches of glimpse of what's so jovial about what I do. FRECKLES I once saw a woman of color that was so stunning that I could not stop staring. Her skin was so beautiful accented by these gorgeous freckles. I just wanted to be one of her freckles. I had to write a song about it. Thus, the song freckles was born. I invited Darryl Phinnessee singer for Micheal Jackson to sing on this track and I am every so glad that he did. He took the concept one step further and said "It's like God I want to be one of your creations". Darryl sang the chorus so humble and childlike that you get his sentiment. Dr. Dana Howell played a clarinet solo so that words can not describe. As if to yes '' I am one of your freckles". Emarimyles This is a instrumental tune written for one of my besties two children. It features Thundercat on bass , Mark Baker on Drums & Eugene Chapman on Alto sax. These guys really brought it at a live show we did. I'm humbled to have such great player on my team. My fav part is when we trade two's at the end of the track.
