Kicking off our release schedule for the New Year and returning to the label after a long absence Sorcery Records' first release of 2013 comes from Jack Ds and Max Denoise with a track called Soul's Light, featuring mixes and remixes by Jack Ds, Eddie Sender, Baiaz Project and Sara Pollino. There is something in this package for everyone. Launching this progressive trance release is the Jack Ds vs Max Denoise Original Mix. Insistent driving rhythms underpinned by a deep bass kick, string sounds and harmonic plucked synths combined with side chain effect and reverb move the track into the breakdown where a lead synth draws the listener into the final section of the track which features off beat broken chords harmonising with the original melodic riff. The first remix comes from Eddie Sender. This track is slower in pace and has a more techy electro edge for a darker feel. Using detuned synths to drive both rhythm and melody, Eddie picks up on the central theme before introducing dark and heavy bassline and kicks, and builds layer upon layer of sound and texture in this techy/ progressive remix. Having a similar bpm to the original version the second remix comes from Baiaz Project with another deep dark track, using interesting effects and an insistent deep dark bass synth ramped up with side chain. This remix features off beat rhythms and impressive use of filters throughout only pausing in the breakdown to introduce some atmospheric sounds and effects before rebuilding into the main riff of the track. The third remix is by Sara Pollino and is in complete contrast to all the other tracks on this release. Slower in pace, Sara creates a masterful progressive remix with a more refined and delicate feel using piano and orchestral strings and sounds over those driving bass rhythms. The final track in this release is the Jack Ds Mix, a progressive trance stormer. Detuned chorded synths and driving beats fuel this haunting mix whilst a melody quietly emerges from the depths of the track, moving quickly to take centre stage in the breakdown before being skilfully incorporated into the final section of the track.
