简介
From the cathedral city of Lincoln in the East Midlands, UK born Nick Newman has taken an eclectic mix of influences growing up, turning them into something unique and innovative under his SeamLess Beat soubriquet as Suffused Polarities finds sounds of the 'Cosmos'. A long-time veteran of the hardcore and drum and bass scenes DJ'ing in hometown clubs, Newman gleaned an intimate knowledge of a variety of genres before finding purpose and passion through the ambient and deep progressive house scenes. A production career than only began in the early months of 2013 has since blossomed into a century of production credits as the SeamLess Beat name has become allied to such imprints as Stellar Fountain Deep, Mistique Music and LuPS. A debut for sister label Suffused Music on 'Initializing Vol. III' saw 'Talking Drum' lay the foundations for the groundbreaking 'Cosmos' to now launch on Suffused Polarities. A ten-track conceptual offering, 'Cosmos' takes notions of elemental deep space and translates the perceptions and ideas into aural form. The first tranche of tracks capture the very essence of the cosmos as 'Dark Nebula' charts a twisted path through pitch bent sounds and subtle melodic undertones. Long-tailed reverbs and infinite delays echo the generative work of 1970s Brian Eno through 'Granular Material' and the aptly titled 'Radiation', while the sound of radio frequency telescopes feel realised in the thickly textured 'Vortex' and 'Photostellar'. Developing a wider range of sounds and a soundtrack element in the album's final third, 'Liquid Earth' highlights a modulating pad that elicits melancholy through chord structure and falling rain textures. 'Orbit' continues the theme with subtle melodic nuance and soft rhythm, while the closing 'Sunrise' provides a moment of optimism and joy to end through random shimmering patterns of chinking crystal effects. The SeamLess Beat and rhythm of the universe is brought to Suffused Polarities as the 'Cosmos' is revealed in all its glory
