As a tribute to the European Soccer Tournament taking place in 2008 and the wonderful Austrian capitol city Wien - SLICK IDIOT is coming back with it's own version of one of the most famous traditional Austrian songs ever - "Wien, Du Stadt meiner Traeume". Coming to rescue Industrial music fans stranded in a land of complacency are EN ESCH and GUENTER SCHULZ, together as SLICK IDIOT! Formerly core members and co-founders of KMFDM, ESCH and SCHULZ left the groundbreaking industrial powerhouse in 2000 forming their own project, SLICK IDIOT. The duo released their first album, Dicknity, in 2001: currently available on Itchy Records and distributed by Cleopatra. A supporting tour followed in the Spring/Summer of 2002. After releasing ReDickulous, an innovative remix CD comprised of songs from Dicknity remixed by friends and fans of the band and distributed through Underground, Inc., ESCH and SCHULZ returned to the studio and created SCREWTINIZED. The fresh new music that resulted retains their distinctive sound with unexpected twists and is sure to resonate with their broad fan base. The logical follow up to their last full lengh album was another remix CD which saw the light of day in late 2006 called xSCREWciating containing a first taste of what will hit you in 2007…a new song called “Hot Stuff” which became a big club smasher all over the world. In 2008 Slick Idiot returns for more! Starting off with a digital only single called "Wien" inspired by the world famous Austrian Song “Wien, Du Stadt meiner Träume” by Rudolf Sieczynski – followed by an EP with the name "Burn for me" and a new album slated for beginning of 2009.
