Ben Harrison is a musician, songwriter, author and playwright who has been performing in Key West since 1979, when he and his wife, Helen, arrived on the thirty-eight sailboat they built in Costa Rica, which his recently published memoir, "Sailing Down the Mountain," chronicles. Well-known for his humor and sense of the ridiculous, many of his songs explore the unique and ribald character of Key West. For example, on this, his ninth album, "Sloppy Joe's Bar 1984" was inspired from a list that was taped on the cash register of those who were banned from the bar.
