The following tracks are the first singles from Sepoy's debut album. Sepoy is a four piece Indie Alternative Pop Rock 'n' Roll band based in New York City. From their childhood in India to their current lives in the U.S.A, Sepoy’s debut album is influenced thematically from their experiences from traveling down this road, and musically from the underground Rock scene in India. The ethnic rhythmic and tonal influences lay understated but subliminally present in the 12 song Alternative Rock ’n' Roll album. From both a production and compositional standpoint, this leans more towards a "70’s Pop Rock record meets an early 90’s Alt Rock record” rather than mainstream Contemporary Rock. The band name Sepoy – originally referring to an indigenous soldier serving under an imperialist conqueror – symbolizes their role in society and what the album is all about; a contextualization of the Sepoy’s Dilemma in everyday situations faced by everyday people. The first single Holy War is a satirical first person’s perspective of a Sepoy soldier who is finally fed up of serving for his conqueror. Sonically, this can be described as layers of ambient guitar textures on top of overdriven guitars, on top of an ethnic Sitar monotonic drone, on top of a Rock 'n' Roll bass drum grove that gives the song its playful quality. The second single Reno starts off with an air of optimism – inspirational and motivational monologue strewn with reverb filled major progression guitar licks giving it an epic grandiose feel – only to resolve itself in the second half when the song gets a second life with its raunchy guitar riffing and telling the real story of what the song is all about – a gambler’s ruin.
