简介
Ricky was born on November 7, 1990 in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. At the age of nine he picked up his first guitar and within a year displayed a unique ability to learn at an unprecedented pace. By the age of twelve his rare talent was winning local music contests. At the age of thirteen he was sitting in at local venues with established blues veterans. It was during this period that his exceptional voice emerged complementing his diverse guitar techniques. By fourteen he embarked on his solo career, debuting at the Tremblant International Blues Festival. His debut CD, “Early For The Show”, was completed at the age of fourteen just before his recent fifteenth birthday. Ricky continues his classical music studies which he has fused with the blues and a youthful rock edge to create an energetic sound that is both refreshing and traditional. He is a disciplined student of his art with the skill and talent of an industry veteran. The term Prodigy may fade with maturity, but Ricky’s true love of the blues is what makes this young artist a rare inspiration. This passionate bluesman echoes respect to his guitar heroes with each note he plays and each song he sings. RICKY PAQUETTE – EARLY FOR THE SHOW “Early For The Show” combines Ricky’s many influences to showcase his ability as a songwriter, singer and guitarist extraordinaire. From the Delta sound of “Terra Plane Blues” to the rocking sound of “Crossroads”, he pays tribute to one of his heroes, Robert Johnson. Ricky’s classical influence is incorporated into his original instrumental “Woodshed Blues”. Ricky honors other heroes and influences such as Buddy Guy with “Leave My Little Girl Alone” and Jimi Hendrix with “Red House”. “Statesboro Blues” allows his slide guitar to salute another of Ricky’s heroes, The Allman Brothers, while Jimmie Vaughn’s “Feel Like a King” lets a little funky side shine through. His song writing skill on “Schoolboy Blues” and “I’m A Fool” add testament to the legacy he carries on with admiration and confidence. Add a traditional shuffle like “Caledonia” as well as a surprise bonus track and the Ricky Paquette experience becomes complete.
