简介

This work was recorded ThorNton Creek at the Husky Door factory. This incarnation of the Creek featured Don Miller on lead guitar, Walter Harley on bass, Duane Taylor on drums, Saundrah Humphrey on viola and violin, and Thornton Bowman on acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars. Everyone sang. MJ Bishop came in to do harmony vocals on Morpheus, and Tim Swetonic played some drums. "The name ThorNton Creek conjures up the image of a Bluegrass band, but this band has a diverse sound that's hard to categorize - sort of country/folk/pop, but frequently with more edge; and of course this CD is 'six times stronger.' Stronger than what, I am not sure, but it is a strong CD. The band cranks out 11 solid tracks, plus a delightful bonus track/jam at the end....this is a tight, well produced CD, that will bring the listener back to it again and again in order to fully appreciate its many artistic levels." Alan Kausal - Victory Review, Vol. 29, November 2004 About ThorNton Creek Who's in the band and what are they doing there? Thornton Bowman writes songs, plays acoustic guitar, and sings. MJ Bishop plays the mandolin and sings. Walter Harley plays bass. Mark Drake plays drums. Don Miller plays electric guitar and sings. What the heck kind of band is that? ThorNton Creek oozes out of the cracks between Neil Young, John Hiatt, Wilco and John Prine. Why not listen to a sample and make up your own description? How long has the band been together? Thornton, Duane Taylor, and Don started out in 1996. Duane left for a while, some other people came and went (including Don's brother Steve), Saundrah Humphrey joined in 1999, Walter in 2001, and Duane came back in 2002. Saundrah left in 2003. MJ joined in 2003. Then Duane left. Mark came in 2004. Walter left in 2006 and joined Purty Mouth (a band ThorNton Creek plays with sometimes). Steve Miller, Don's brother, came back in 2006. MJ went on tour in 2009 (but will come back). Eric Smith started playing with them in 2009. What's a Thornton Creek? It's a creek in Seattle. The band's Top Secret Laboratory is located somewhere nearby. So there's a guy named Thornton but his last name isn't Creek? True.("Thornton" is a stage name. His real name is Jethro Tull.) How do you spell ThorNton Creek (the band, not the creek)? Just like that. With a capital "N" in the middle. Always with an "N". Sometimes people forget the "N", but that's just wrong.
