My name is Rick Tholen. Friends call me Dizzl. I'm a musician who resides on the outer banks of North Carolina. I've always have had an ear for music and storytelling. I have so many influences ranging from Pearl Jam to Blind Melon, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Bob Dylan. I't is of the few things i am very passionate about. I've been in and out of bands sinse i was a teenager and miss playing with other talented musicians. So, in the end of 2007 i started writing songs on my guitar about my life, relationships, pain, happiness and heartache. Eventhough i'm a solo act. I wanted to give these songs the same sound i heard in my head. So, with the help of some other local musicians i laid out a plan............April of 2008, I decided to go into the studio and make "the last daze of a starving artist". A memoir in a sense of where i've been, and where i'm going. I titled the album the way i did because that is exactly what i am. A starving artist. Peace and love, Dizzl.
