**Iyadonna's success is continuing to explode within the music entertainment industry. She is almost done completing her album and now yet another mixtape! IYA hails from BOSTON, MASS. and reps that to the fullest with raw uncut lyrics and conceptual flow... IYA was born in ROXBURY, only 3 doors down from where Malcolm X once lived. Iya developed her skills not only as an emcee who can write but also as a singer leading her youth choir in church. (doesn't everybody start there?:) By the time she was 11yrs old IYA was entering talent shows and "beating all the boys". Countless artists have had a lot of influence on IYA like Jay Z, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, ED OG and of course Lauryn Hill . In 1999 Iyadonna was introduced to DJ Clinton Sparks and began work on her first two singles "What You Think" and "That's My Crew" released in 2000 on Compound Ent. Both records were a success on the college rap charts and in DJs crates. Iyadonna was proving that she could rhyme, but that’s not all this multi talented artist could do. When Clinton was asked by another DJ / producer named Creativity if he knew anyone who could write an R&B song for his artist Jenae, Clinton knew IYA was the one. Creativity was so impressed with her skills that he asked her to write two songs and spit a verse on each. "Stop" and "Let Me Go” were released in 2001 and received play throughout the nation. In 2004 Iya moved to Norfolk VA, to attend Norfolk State and also became a popular radio personality at WNSB Hot 91 (2004 - 2009). In 2009 Iyadonna graduated from Norfolk State with a degree in communications/broadcast. IYA has worked with such artist as: Akrobatik, K.T, Virtuoso, Chubby Chub, Tank, Roy Barboza, Vendetta, JV the rap-singer, Boston Massacre, John Doe and more. She has shared the stage with some of the best in the game. She also still rhymes with her Boston based crew "MEANTOWN". Iya has been featured on mixtapes and dvd's across the country. She is able to stretch from pop to hip hop from rhyming to singing from the streets to the clubs which is not only rare for a female to do, its almost completely extinct. Iyadonna now has showed the world now her pop side with the huge follow up to "Respect" and "Step to the side" with "DANCEFLOOR", which from January - April 2010 recieved 300 BDS/Mediabase spins across the country!! "DANCEFLOOR" also recieved play overseas in Greece, London, Indonesia, Amsterdam, and Japan to name a few!! After the success of "DANCEFLOOR", she released a song called "BE MYSELF" which was also produced by DJ Creativity and was officially remixed by 2 time grammy winner FATMAN SCOOP. "BE MYSELF" has been her biggest single to date and still currently gets radio play around the world. She is now a Free Agent and has been working for herself and on her brand. She currently has been recording music with several different producers and writing for several different artists. Shooting numerous videos on youtube with her business partner, Diego Smart of ASAP Media Group,(including one for this single) she has been very successful in furthering her buzz in the underground music circuit and mainstream media.
