During the summer of 2004 Inez Timmer took part in a very intense and inspiring method-acting course. It motivated her to create a theater-jazz programme about the life and work of Cole Porter.

Being a big Porter fan made it difficult to choose from the huge amount of wonderful material he wrote and composed, specially since Inez wanted to do more than just sing his songs.

So she was creating a concept in which she tried to do justice to Cole Porters as an artist and a person. In addition she decided to sing a number of the songs in German, so that the people who are not that familiar with the English language could also appreciate his brilliance and sense of humor. The more than adequate translations by Mischa Mleineck even added to the wit in Porters work.
