Hot up and coming avante garde UK rock band VINYL RESIN have now released their debut E.P "Me, divided by you, equals them" through Matchbox Recordings. The Vinyl's blast out a cool mix of different leftfield Marychain like dark speed rock with a groovy, lo-fi almost punky sort of sound. They are sing-a-long and sonic at the same time and touch on the darker side of things. Bauhaus meets The Clash on holiday with Love and Rockets and The Buzzcocks. Both as cool as f**k. Vinyl and Resin. The band consist of: Matt Harrison - Lead Vocals and Rhythm/Lead Guitars Ben Ridley - Drums Matt Lomas - Bass Guitar Chris Whitney - Rhythm/Lead Guitars They describe their music as "pinge" - an acronym of punk / indie / grunge. The name of the EP, "Me, divided by you, equals them" is the result of a drunk episode with fridge magnets whilst recording the album. ( As you would expect - ed) THE BAND TALK ABOUT THE SONGS The EP contains songs which are both new and old, so they cover a wide timescale of our lives. Some songs were written whilst we were still in education (i.e. in our teens) and others were written recently. There are songs about love, hate, growing up, family and friends, being happy, being depressed. Obviously everyone can relate to all of these emotions in some way so we hope people can listen to our songs and feel where we're coming from. Although the songs were written individually, all four of us have contributed in some major way. Songs can end up completely different to how they started out so none of the songs have a particular individual signature to them. A fan of VinylresiN once wrote in a forum, "Pinge is definitely the way forward!"
