Singer born Melissa Marie Dennis in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to a family of poverty and addiction found her strength through music. At the age of 6 she moved to Sacramento, California with her mother and two siblings where she currently resides. Singing was more than just a passion for Soulisity it was a way of enduring a childhood of anxiety and abuse. At the age of 9 she began writing poetry which allowed her to speak from the heart freely about her feelings without judgment. Music was all she thought about, but just could not grab a hold of the opportunities other children were given. Constantly battling her own hearts addiction to soulful sounds and the adversity of a family that told her she would never make it. At the age of 20 Soulisity wrote her first song entitled “come on over”, this soulful Jazzy composition was so uniquely different that Soulisity was asked to perform it in front of crowds of people. This was her first song recorded in a studio and this is the song and performance that told her she would follow her heart. Soulisity comes from a background of singers and musicians. Her grandfather John Dennis Sr. played guitar with his dear friend Hank Williams Sr. while her Grandmother played the Harp and Spoons. Her father, aunts, and uncle have all played instruments from guitar to flute and even piano. Her aunt Rita used to sing on the radio station every day in Montgomery, AL where Ralph Emery was the Radio Personality. However, Soulisity missed the opportunity to embrace those special moments when she was uprooted at such an early age, yet somehow those 6 years made its mark on her future; because she has been singing ever since. In 2005, Soulisity did her first Demo of "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green which opened the doors not only to her demo being played by a few local radio stations, but also opened the world up to her smooth vibe and soulful sound. Through many obstacles, Soulisity has continued to stampede the Music World! She has written over 100 original songs, appeared in local movie skits, been featured on local artists albums and has written a book recently published. Soulisity has fans from Sacramento, California (her hometown) all the way to China and is ready to fight her way to the top! Currently Soulisity has been the newest addition to the up and coming Soul R&B Band JammX.
