Sea Raven, D.Min., harper, singer, earth liturgist, presents poetry and song in the Celtic tradition, including historic and modern tunes and ballads. Sea Raven, D.Min., is a life-long musician, plays drum, guitar, harp, and piano, and is trained as a classical singer. She offers innovative leadership for service music, and earth-based liturgies for those who wish to honor the integrity of creation in regular worship services throughout the Christian liturgical year. To explore the art of congregational singing, Sea Raven uses the full range of possibility contained in the new editions of hymnals (especially the United Church of Christ’s New Century Hymnal), innovative approaches to the Psalms (using the New Century Psalter), and the traditions of Taizé and the Iona Community. Sea Raven’s doctoral project, A Worship Book for Creation Spirituality, offers earth liturgies based upon what is known about pre-Christian Celtic spirituality, post-modern cosmology, and the theology and four-path principles of Creation Spirituality as developed by Dr. Matthew Fox.
