简介
“Those wise enough to slip this CD into their collection will be rewarded with a truly magnificent rendition of [Robert Schumann’s] Kreisleriana.” James Wegg, www.jamesweggreview.org “The publicity photos of Cary Chow with his dark t-shirt and tattoos may deviate from the traditional image of a concert pianist's bow tie and tails, but there is no mistaking the technical and interpretative skills evident in his latest album…Chow's technique is flawless…superb control and artistry…” Jim Paterson, www.mfiles.co.uk Zirkus (Step Inside) features two epic works from the Romantic era, Robert Schumann's Carnaval and Kreisleriana. Cary Chow was once hailed (half in jest) as 'a composite of Vladimir Horowitz and Ozzy Osbourne’. He has appeared in solo concerts and concerti with orchestras across North America, the United Kingdom and China. Until 2006, he was a faculty member of the Victoria Conservatory of Music and the University of Victoria; currently, he is a faculty member of the ‘Young Artist Experience’ at the University of British Columbia. As a Guest Professor, he has a loyal following at the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music Attached Middle School in Beijing. This long-awaited recording is his first studio release in eight years. If you love the old-school keyboard heroes such as Horowitz, Rubenstein, Lhevinne, Moiseiwitsch et al, with big technique, myriad tonal colors and supersized style, then Zirkus is for you!
