New Pop Fantasy, the second album by South Carolina singer/songwriter Harry Grillo is a sonic landscape for lovers of melodic pop rock. Eighties-style synth dominates the majority of the songs, but does not diminish the integrity of the lyric. High points include "Five Days Away", a tribute to classic pop of the 60s - featuring backing vocals by Harry's mother, Gwen Grillo; "Don't Shut Me Out" - a fun romp that rocks out with piano tones and intricate percussion; "Inspiration" - a dedication to the Wilson sisters of Heart - who are a primary influence on Harry's art.
