Meiosis is essentially a one man band consisting of singer/songwriter Martin Thompson. From his first release in 1999, Martin has been releasing indie pop records which have gained him a cult following around the world. It can be said that their is a certain Bowiesque quality to Meiosis' music and Martin does evidently know the winning formula that makes a perfectly satisfying wonky indie pop tune. Lyrics look inwards into the soul of what makes an individual tick as well as being unstoppably witty and sometimes provocatively arrogant in execution with Martin's instantly recognisable voice.

Melancholic piano arrangements and wonky acoustic guitar often make way for incredible electronic and orchestral arrangements with those instantly ingrained hook lines that you aren't going to shake off in a hurry.
