This an amalgamation of Sharps' best from 2007 to 2009. The tunes were originally released in a series of 4 mini-albums on Addictech.com: Nightworks, Queniciks, Turbo and The Stag. They've been refreshed here, and punctuate a story of living dance culture. Sharps began producing tracks at an early age, inspired by the raves of the early 90's, some synths and the excitement of this new kind of music that had only just begun. After more than a decade of growth as an artist, he broke his tunes onto the international scene with the bombs "Nightwork" and "Sorcery", two mutant crossover jams that got heavy play in the dance underground. This was followed up with the pumping tune "Turbo", and his epic tribute to Angolan kuduro "Uprise". 2009 saw the release of "My Little Pony", an envelope-pushing tune that hit big in the summer, getting big play at the festivals including Burningman and the mega-ton soundsystems at Shambhala. The album is rounded out with a pair of tunes from the mellow side: "Last Winter" and "Decay and Release". Sharps credits his influences to all kinds of electronic dance music, inspiring producers, musicians, scientists and thinkers. Aphex Twin, Autechre, Richie Hawtin were some of his earliest influences. Tipper, Rusko, Si Begg continue to inspire. Entire genres that have made a mark on him include dubstep, regueton, acid house, d&b, glitch, breaks, bass, and kuduro. Sharps' hi-tech bass music is made for large systems, driven by the global need for mad tunes, and the excitement and energy that comes when people gather to wash their souls in bass. Not content to stick to one genre, his productions encompass a diverse range of beats as he strives for a vivid, rich and mind expanding sound. Sharps manages Saedos Records, a label dedicated to underground, risky bass music. Saedos is home to many talented artists including Misterand, DJ Degree, Mat the Alien and DJ Rundown, all of whom are worth checking out.
