About three years ago Chris Eagan, the songwriter of this song just got finished recording a Christmas song in his studio when his wife Diane Renay came in the room and he played it for her. She felt it wasn't a happy Christmas song and she left the room!

So he grabbed his guitar, put on his headphones and started to record and the whole song came out melody, cords and lyrics as he played within three minutes! The song just came out! The song is about a child's viewpoint when wishing for what he wants for Christmas!
