简介
Mist Season comes from Hämeenlinna, Finland. The aim of the group is to play music that includes a spectrum of emotional and dynamic elements, bordering between progressive rock and fusion. Mist Season can been compared to PFM, Camel, Phil Miller, Pekka Pohjola, Yellowjackets, Koinonia, Passport and Pat Metheny Group. The group consists of six members. Keijo Hakala has extensive experience as a rock / jazz musician. This holds true for Kimmo Pörsti as well, who has been involved, for instance, in numerous television music productions. Both Jukka Pitkänen and Tommi Varjola are teachers in a music institute. Tommi Varjola and Timo Kajamies both have classical training. Kari Rantakallio is a professional sax player in a brass band in addition to many theater productions. The members in the group have gathered musical experience with an array of different artists, such as Jouko Kantola (formerly with Kaamos), Juhani Aaltonen (formerly with Tasavallan Presidentti), Ted Curson (formerly with Charles Mingus), Kenny Garret and Ron McClure. The CD has been mixed and mastered by a well-known Finnish record producer and TV journalist Tommi Liuhala, who has ever since the 70’s been working with, for instance, Wigwam, Kalevala and Haikara. One of the highlights in the CD is a 20 page, 4-color booklet that contains photographic art of Esko Tuovinen. The photos underline the musical moods to a great extent, but each of them is yet a work of art in itself.
