This exciting risk-taker blends the avant-garde with a mainstream R&B/Pop sound and style. Jesse made history in 2006 by being the first black openly gay male to ever sign with Columbia Records. Now on his own, Jesse launched 1 Groove Records in 2009 to continue his vision of creating a musical world that provokes thought and excitement, while expanding the mind. Jesse is the consummate performer, having opened for Sean Paul, Kelis, and Amerie, among others. He’s garnered considerable airplay on radio programs such as WHLI, Koop FM, and The Doo Dirty Show, and has been featured in magazines like Next, Clik, and Go. The groundbreaking video for his single “I Think I’m Falling In Love” was featured on the MTV/LOGO network. Jesse O was born Jesse Afriyie in Ghana, West Africa and raised in Bronx, NY. This spring marks the release of Jesse's highly anticipated 2nd album “Love and Go Crazy". This album picks up where "Exposure" left off.
