Recorded in the depths of frosty winter in the small mountain town of Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia, this long-awaited album collects eleven haunting tunes by 5-string banjo legend Peter Somerville, plus four traditional songs. Peter's strong original melodies are complemented by award-winning multi-instrumentalist Pete Denahy playing virtuoso fiddle, mandolin, guitar and bass, and Fran Martin joins the duo to add her sweet harmonies to the songs. Drawing on Appalachian-style old-time as well as bluegrass traditions, "In the Morning Glow" is music for the soul, recalling the stark beauty of a mountain dawn.
