简介

Mo & the Oh's is an artist gathering that began in 2014 in the St. Paul Guitar Studios, with studio owner and guitarist Rick Stack, and composer and vocalist Maureen Schriner - Mo for short. Acoustic and electric guitar wasn't filling the space of the composition, so the artist gathering expanded to include pianist Dan Musselman, who had played on Rick's fusion jazz EP and has recorded with dozens more artists, and bass guitarist Andrew Foreman and drummer Zach Schmidt, a duo who have played together for a number of bands. The first rehearsals were in September 2014 - bouncing around basements - first in St. Paul at Rick's, then Minneapolis at Zach's. Recordings started in November at The Terrarium - a magical place for music. As the production progressed, Dan added layers with super talented synthesizer playing, and Jake Baldwin on trumpet added a sweet spot. Rick nimbly moved from electric guitar to acoustic and, for Questions, he added the haunting tones of a Les Paul (thanks to The Terrarium for having that classic guitar on hand - and Rob's creative idea as an engineer). Once recording was done in February 2015, mixing and mastering took a long, convoluted tour - finally landing in Rochester to be mixed by Jim Fricker II at North Coast (still not sure where the coast is in Rochester, but there was a good Greek restaurant nearby) and mastered by Tim Snow of Lighthouse Records (which is actually on water - shoreline in Plymouth, MN). Art work was designed by Tyler McGrath - his name isn't on the cover he designed - a huge oversight for such a creative artist. By December 2015, the EP was produced, packaged and printed - but 2016 brought a few more months and delays from things - some that were important, most that were not. That's life. These five songs span times in life - to seek Di-ver-city, ask Questions, pursue our Journey, look for life that is So Small, So Beautiful, and hold tight to Memories. Thanks to the artists that bring life into our lives - in 5-oh and every day.
