简介
by Bret Love For mentally deranged sociopaths who find Boredoms' brand of noisecore a bit too mainstream and accessible, A.C. offers up the indescribable Top 40 Hits, a 39-minute, 40-song descent into the most hellish abyss of dissonant noise you could ever hope to imagine. The band's "music" lies somewhere between the sound of a distant faucet being turned on and off and the sound of impending doom smashing down on unsuspecting heads. But how can a mere critic ever hope to accurately describe the music of a band with such crafty song titles as "Don't Call Japanese Hardcore Jap Core" and "Breastfeeding Jm J. Bullock's Toenail Collection"? But wait, where are the promised Top 40 hits, you ask? As an added bonus, the band puts their own special twist on oldies radio favorites such as the Guess Who's "American Woman," Elton John's "I'm Still Standing," and, in an Oi! version that must be heard to be believed, the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive." Don't say you weren't warned.
