Originally from the New Orleans and the bayou area south of there; Willem & Dakota formed as the duo spin-off of The Willem McCormick band. Emerson's soulful approach to McCormick's lovelorn southern guitar pop tunes added an extra twist to the rock group. After recording an album (Time To Find The Guggenheimer) under the group name Willem! which featured Jamie Pittman and Jim Ankar; Willem and Dakota headed west and set sights on recording and gigging in Hollywood, California. After a gig a The Mint in Los Angeles where McCormick met sound engineer Robi Banerji ( who has worked from everyone from The Rolling Stones to Etta James) the duo took their band into the studio and began work on their new album which is what we present here. The album consists of songs written by Willem McCormick and Dakota Emerson and features major players in the music scene such as John Martin Sommers, Jamison Hollister ( John Fogerty/ Lisa Marie Presley), Chris Vos of the recently Grammy nominated blues rock band The Record Company,, Heather McIntosh, and Dave Easley.
