简介
“ANU” is the culmination of a creative process spanning from the late zeros to late 2011. The music itself being the brainchild of Ilias Pantoleon was co-materialized with Mampre Kasardjian, Francesco Alessi, Cory Bracken, Stanislav Nikolov, Michael Hanf, William Lang, Kenneth Advocat, and Andrew Kozar in Athens, Greece and in New York and Brooklyn NY, USA. The album, “kites”, amongst other things, proposes an organic interaction between a chamber ensemble and a modern band, the barks and wailings of stray dogs with bass-drone mayhem, the simplicity of a Waltz with the intricacy of fabricated soundscapes, and fiddles with the fine line between irony and cynicism, humor and pathos. Mixing : Panagiotis Delinikolas Mastering : Helmut Erler Released by FooN records © 2011 WE WHOLEHEARTEDLY DEDICATE THIS RECORD TO "ANIMAL NUDITY" **KITES** Violins – Stanislav Nikolov Clarinets in Bb – Kenneth Advocat Trombones – William Lang Trumpets in A – Andrew Kozar Vibraphone – Cory Bracken Marimba – Michael Hanf El. Soon the need of a drummer to consummate the fruit of their labor was imperative, and thus, Francesco Alessi, a Sicilian, at the time taking classes at the Collective School of Music along with Mampre, came on board. At the same time, Ilias, then a composition student at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, started putting these ideas together on paper, and about a month in of organizing, orchestrating, and developing the material, decides to give it a shot and record the consequent 20-minute monster. The project took off in August 2009, with Ilias hitting the streets of NY, armed with a laptop and 2 microphones in a backpack, and recording this music all over; concert halls, bedrooms, kitchens, classrooms, living rooms, you name it. After the completion of the recording sessions, with Francesco flying to Greece to lay the drum-tracks with Panagiotis Delinikolas, the latter, took on the monstrous task of mixing it all together. This took Panagiotis roughly a couple of years of serious tweaking, while at the same time building his own workspace, later on to be known as “Spork Studio”. In other words, we are very excited to be sharing this with you, hoping that you will enjoy it, let it grow to become yours, and love it, as we have. Let it in. **TOOTHTAG** El. Through the implementation of animal sounds, the composer proposes an alternate sound-map of the Athenian landscape that cannot be contained by the urban/rural bifurcation of the traditional soundscape paradigm…” **REBICYCLING** El.
