Our first release of the New Year signals a second outing on XTK for Birmingham local Mark Whitehouse, who follows up his chart-storming summer debut 'Dark Passenger' with a superb solo single of hard-hitting floor Techno entitled 'The Frequency' True to it's name, the original mix combines layers of interweaving percussion and peaking stabs with an ultra-low low end groove to create a rolling modern Techno monster. By contrast Mark's 'It Hertz' interpretation selectively strips away the intensity and replaces it with counter-slung groove, resulting in a great slice of pure midnight Tech peppered with cascading dub chords and shimmering transitional effects.
