Kyrsten Leigh, Canadian singer/songwriter, from a very young age strongly desired to be a singer. Growing up, she had a passion for performing and acting and was always willing to sing for anyone and everyone. Her musical influences include Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert and a whole lot of Disney while growing up. Kyrsten loves multiple genres and eras of music; however, her heart belongs to Country. "I've grown up listening to country music radio. Country music has always had a magical gift for telling stories, which I admire immensely and I have always connected with. It's home for me." Kyrsten started writing her own songs at age 11 and has been "World-schooled" since age 13. While travelling/living abroad in 11 different countries, Kyrsten Leigh learned to appreciate different genres of music from all around the world and picked up her first guitar … that’s where the musical magic started to happen. "I am always writing. Whether it's a little tune, a single verse or an entire song, I am always inspired to write new stories." Songs poured out of her onto napkins, paper scraps and eventually onto the pages of her songbooks (the voice memo app on her iPhone is her best friend). “I have always been a storyteller. Writing about people, places or scenarios that I can relate to is what fuels me." In 2014, Kyrsten Leigh made her debut to the music scene by creating her very first demo 'For Real' with engineer/producer, Johnny Gasparic, of Canadian Country Music Award-winning MCC Recording Studio. She has worked with vocal coach and music industry mentor Emma Harding of Rockit Vocal Studios and has been mentored by rocker-turned-country-artist Dan Davidson whom she later worked with in 2016 to record and produce her very first singles, 'For Real' and 'Back To You'. "Hearing the final products of both of my very first singles for the very first time made me cry. I was thrilled! It's such a gratifying feeling to hear those two little songs that I wrote, develop into fully-produced pieces of music! The best part being that I get the opportunity to share these stories with the world!" In 2015, she auditioned for The Calgary Stampede Talent Search and performed as a semi-finalist at ATB Financial’s “Road to the Main Stage Singing Competition” at one of North America’s largest music festivals, Big Valley Jamboree, where artists such as Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and the one and only Reba McEntire, were performing. Kyrsten also performed at Canada’s Wild Outdoor Expo in Stony Plain, Alberta, where she was thrilled to perform her first original set-list. Kyrsten Continues to write, perform, and have "a real good time" with her family as they continue to be agile and explore new places. Kyrsten Leigh is a confident soul with a passion for writing genuine, honest, fun, heartfelt, and sometimes heart-wrenching, lyrics and a desire to touch lives with her music one song at a time.
