American pianist Lisa Caliri appears internationally in many of the most prestigious concert halls to the delight of audiences and critics alike. Caliri presents her debut CD recording of music she loves written by leading American composers. She was inspired to study these works after hearing them as a youngster, then later performed them touring Asia and the USA, now culminating with the recorded release of this album. It is a richly varied program that includes her stunning performances of the iconic Rhapsody In Blue by George Gershwin, which combines jazz elements with classical music, the hauntingly beautiful Nocturne by Samuel Barber, as well as his Piano Sonata, the virtuosic masterpiece. The CD also features Birds, Books 1 and 2, the highly acclaimed impressionistic studies by Seymour Bernstein who acknowledged Caliri for making “the definitive recording” of these compositions.
