简介

Chad Knight Bio: I was born and raised a native of Laurel, Mississippi, and ever since I first heard music when I was a kid, I always dreamed of becoming a singer. I took guitar lessons during high school, but I was too shy to sing in public until my senior year, when my first band played in the talent show. After being in a few bands that never lasted long enough, I knew the only way to succeed in the music business was to start a solo career. I like to think of myself as a "late bloomer,” but I still, to this day, have no regrets. Music is my outlet and one of the best ways to express my thoughts and feelings. I like to have total control over my music. Most of my inspiration comes from my personal life experiences and lessons gleaned from the lives of others. I not only enjoy writing for myself, but also for friends and fans who ask me to write songs for them. I love challenges when it comes to songwriting, collaborating with other artists and experimenting with different genres. For me, being on stage is the best feeling in the world; there's nothing else like it. Growing up, I listened to many genres of music, which is probably why I never stay with one genre. I like to call it "soundtrack music," because it's my life story and I think I'd get bored with always delivering the same sound. When I was introduced to grunge and alternative rock music in the 90's; my most influential bands were Bush, Everclear, Alice in Chains, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, and many others. Then, it was a band called Sublime that made me fall in love with reggae-rock music. They started a whole community of new bands that I've discovered over the years. Examples include Slightly Stoopid, Iration, Stick Figure, Mike Pinto, Pepper… the list goes on. I love that I can still get inspired by new music. It is a great feeling when you can create something of your own which is so powerful, yet beautiful. Of course, everyone knows by now music doesn't pay the bills. Since 2003, I've always had a full-time job while recording, touring, and playing “non-stop” at local venues and night clubs. I've played countless acoustic and full band shows. After being well established in Mississippi, I didn't want to stop there. I always dreamed of leaving home to further my music career, just to get a taste of what it's like to play in a larger scene. This time I wanted to give it 100%. Moving to Seattle, WA, was a dream come true for me. Seattle is so welcoming to local music, always showing me that anything is possible and giving me the confidence to approach any opportunity that comes my way. It means so much to me that the area offers endless possibilities in the way of talent auditions, business networking, social media, press interviews, and radio stations that will actually play my music. I've found that, the more work you put into it, the more the rewards come. I've shared the stage with great acts such as Blues Traveler, Kongos, Passafire, Long Beach Rehab, Can't Hang, Cary Hudson, and many others. I thank God every day for blessing me with this talent and for having a supportive, loving wife by my side. I don't care to be famous, or belong to any community. I just enjoy being able to share my stories through playing music. That is my American dream.
