简介
After a sudden relocation halfway across the world, one crashed motorcycle, two broken guitars, and weathering a storm of Biblical proportions, the foundation for Matt's entry into the realm of popular music was laid. Instead of abandoning his classical music upbringing and casting aside fancy arpeggios in favor of strumming chords, why not have both? "The Crossover" has a story to tell - lyrically in the sense of relaying tales of loss, love, and adventure - and musically in the sense of marrying the classical skills Matt honed in San Francisco with the eclectic musical tastes of his new home in India. Scribbles in a notebook during a week-long, no food, no power, Monsoon extravaganza became lyrical inspiration. The Title Track also features Shravan Sridhar on Carnatic violin, lending an air of mystery to the story and proving that music has the power to build bonds beyond the confines of spoken language. In addition to the guitar, Matt has another axe to grind: With so many people complaining about "fake" pop artists with too much technology and not enough instruments, isn't it time somebody did something about it? Nearly every nanosecond of sound on this EP was written, sung, and performed by Matt Bacon across a variety of instruments. Sounds were captured and mixed by the talented Shamanth Nagendra of Cognitive Audio Labs and Shravan Sridhar generously lent his beautiful Indian classical violin playing. You're invited to sit back, relax, and enjoy the music!
