To those who haven’t heard of Kee till now, she grabbed the limelight with her debut album Kudzoyashe two years ago, an album with tracks featuring Mathias Mhere and Alvern Zhou of the Lutheran Church Choir. My passion for music dates back to childhood where the influence of a prayerful grandmother rubbed onto me as prayer sessions were held every evening and all children had to sing in the family choir from the Lutheran hymn book. At least that's what you may need to hear for now. This offering, Eternal Worship Oblation is about worship and depending on God. It contains tracks with various languages and genres. One will notice that the music varies in use of genres. It is deliberately done depending on how I hear the song in my spirit. The album celebrates Christ's victory over death and how that applies to believers for we have received life by believing that message. It is an Easter shout. It speaks of how we can start to depend on God in this life by believing the resurrected Jesus. It is a second piece of work in my music journey, but quite a big turnaround and a promise of even greater things to come. Forever Praise Forever Praise is a reflection on the meaning of Christ’s death and resurrection to Christians. The song celebrates the cross and the consequent victorious life it gives to Christians. It is a song of gratitude for salvation, eternal life, health, peace, joy, one can only erupt into song until eternity hence the title. It exhorts all people of all nations to praise the name of Jesus because he redeemed all man to God in spite of race and kindred. Jesu Nhare Yedu The name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run to and are safe Proverbs 18:10. It came through when my faith was shaken by life challenges, however through meditation and prayer, I then realised that God is right there with us through every challenge. He is Emmanuel God with us and God in us, we are one with Him. He is a hiding place and He gives us strength to overcome our day-to-day challenges. Therefore, we will not be shaken because God is greater than anything that life can throw at us. Ane Hanya It comes from the understanding that God cares for us. His word says cast your burdens unto the Lord for He cares for us. God takes care even of the seemingly trivial things of our lives. He cares about me getting a new hairstyle or getting a new pair of shoes. His love for me is great such that he knows the numbers of my hairs. We should not be troubled therefore by the cares of the world because God cares for us and He takes care of us. Namatwai The song was inspired by Philippians 2:9-11. The name of Jesus is lifted high above every name in heaven and earth. In the book of Acts we are told that salvation is found in none other than the name of Jesus. It is only befitting that we worship, praise and lift up the name of Jesus. We worship him because he is our saviour, He is our redeemer, and He is the giver of life. Shumba yaJudah The song refers to the Lion of Judah which is in Revelations 5verse 5-14. It rejoices in the victory of Jesus over death and saving all humankind. He alone is worthy to receive power, riches, honour, glory and blessings and by virtue of believing in Him we also partakers of this blessing. Jehovah Sabaoth It means the Lord of the armies, the song talks about a God who fights our battles. In 2 Chronicle 20 verse 17 king Jehoshaphat is told to stand still and see the Lord fighting for him. God always goes before us to fight those battles which are way beyond us. When we are surrounded by troubling situations, all we have to do is call upon God and He comes through for us, we can never be defeated. Sacrifice of Praise The song is a celebration of God’s awesomeness and goodness. We are created in God’s image, and we are created for His purpose and glory. We therefore offer our lives as a sacrifice of praise to our creator, because we delight in Him. Tumiso Ho Jesu The song proclaims that all praise should be given to Jesus because there is none like Him. It is a declaration that the Lord is worthy of all the praise, all the glory and all the honour. Give this album a try and I know you'll enjoy.
