简介
Collin Denzil Wyatt, also known as C-Money, was born to William Frazer and Sylvia Wyatt on April 14, 1985 in Sandy Point, a town in the small island of St. Kitts, West Indies. Growing up in St .Kitts, as a young boy, was never very easy for Wyatt. His family was not well set and having little, sometimes no money, was burdensome. Living in a very small rented house in Sandy Point, which his mom had acquired from a relative, was where Wyatt first found his love for music. He would listen to his older siblings, Tell and Shelbe (nick names), as they sung songs that they played from a little radio cassette player. While that was one of the only sources of entertainment that they had, they would always find it exciting. Wyatt would listen to songs and learn them at a very quick pace. Following the steps of his older brother, Tell, he would sing to himself anywhere he went. He never had a limit to the genre of music that he would listen to, sometimes being criticized by friends at school when they caught him singing love songs. Wyatt’s love for music soon became a passion. At eleven-years-old, when he moved with his mother and family to a little village in the town of Sandy Point, his talent seemed to expand. He could often be found hanging around his neighbour’s yard, where he and a few of his friends would be holding the mic and singing their lungs out. At twelve-years old, and already in high school, he wrote and perform his first song with two of his fellow classmates, one being Cash Kid. He, from then on, would use his music to help him in his school work to do class project and assignments. Throughout Wyatt’s school years, increasingly more of his friend began to get into music. They would often enter into school shows and even became popular with the girls. Wyatt, however, being shy, was reluctant to showcase his talent. That was all about to change when one fateful day, his name was entered into the school’s annual calypso and queen pageant as a joke by one of his classmates. He was as skeptical as was scared and felt that he was not ready for this kind of performance, but was persuaded to give it a try. He worked hard and practiced a song, which he co-wrote, each and every night. He was later crowned victorious and became the Sandy Point High School Calypso King. Feeling like the happiest boy on earth, his love was then revealed. Wyatt then started to divert his attention from the calypso arena to focus his attention on dancehall. At first he would just sit back and listen to his friends. But his big chance to shine came when he had gotten together with his fellow villagers, Schoolins, Norrish, Zeny and Yani, to write and record a song. Called Ladies in the Club , the song made a name for him and his friends in Sandy Point and in other parts of St. Kitts. Now that he had officially entered the music scene, he needed a nick-name for himself and decided on C-Money. He has since been recording, performing and writing songs and is pursuing a career as a dancehall musician and hopes to make it big one day. My biggest fan has always been my mom.
