Born in 1989 and raised in Denver, Colorado, Brittany Williams began singing just about the time she could walk. Her parents met in the 1980's while playing music together in a Denver-based band, 'Sophia & The Suspects'. Sophia (mother) was the lead vocalist while Ramoane (father) was the lead guitarist. The couple married in 1988, exactly one year to the date of Williams' birth which coincided with her father, Ramoane's 30th birthday. In 2001, her parents sent her to the Denver School of the Arts (DSA) where she studied Vocal music and acquired a taste for jazz and playing piano. By the time she was 18, Brittany had already had the pleasure of singing behind artists such as Josh Groban at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and written dozens of original songs. On her 19th birthday Brittany released her unsigned debut album 'Cursed with a Blessing’ which immediately sold over 500 physical copies, collectively has had thousands of plays online, and is available for download or purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, SoundCloud and other major social media websites.
 
Her most recent project is Brittany Williams & The Unstoppable Groove (BW & TUG). Williams went to DSA with the BW & TUG's bass player, Sean Dandurand (of the group 'Dandu') and trumpet player, Wesley Watkins (of 'Other Black' and 'Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats) who introduced her to drummer, Dylan Johnson (of Petals of Spain) and guitarist, Daniel Levy (all original members of Watkins' band Other Black).

The music is best described as soul-songwriter with jazz, R&B, and rock influences. Vocal influences include Jill Scott, Christina Aguilera, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Ann & Nancy Wilson of ‘Heart’, Alicia Keys, and Amy Winehouse. What sets Brittany Williams & The Unstoppable Groove apart from other bands is that the songs start out so raw and skeletal, usually just Williams and a piano or guitar, but due to the amazing rapport that the band has together, they effortlessly blossom into these hearty masterpieces.
