简介

Following the release of the advance single "QUE GI" featuring the esteemed Otomo Yoshihide on turntables, the rap trio Dos Monos has released their first album "Dos Atomos" in their second phase. This album marks a significant departure as they boldly embrace a rock sound. Joining the core trio of Zo Zhit, Botsu, and TaiTan are supporting members known for their versatility and musical expertise: drummer Kazuya Oi, famous for his contributions to yahyel and DATS; D.A.N.'s bassist Junya Ichikawa; and Kei Matsumaru, a saxophonist who has frequently collaborated with Dos Monos, including solo performances. The album also boasts an eclectic mix of guest musicians. Alongside Otomo Yoshihide, guest musicians include Morgan Simpson, the drummer of the UK rock band black midi who toured Europe with Dos Monos, and the enigmatic artist Franz K Endo, known for his visual work including "MAD Doraemon." Lenny Hart, a familiar voice at martial arts events such as RIZIN and K-1, brings his iconic ring announcing style to the project. The mixing and scratching duties were handled by The Anticipation Illicit Tsubo, with mastering by Harvey Birrell, known for his work with black midi. Key tracks include the mixture number "QUE GI," which stirred considerable interest and set the stage for the album's new band-oriented sound; "MOUNTAIN D," a track that was developed further for the album after being performed live during the 2022 European tour with black midi; "HI NO TORI," a collaboration with Kyu Hayashida's SF manga "Dai Dark" featuring a striking contrast of Lenny Hart's live announcements against Vocaloid vocals; and "BON," a tribute to the rock bands Battles and Boredoms that Dos Monos deeply respects. The album comprises 11 diverse tracks that explore new musical dimensions.
