Jesus not only welcomes the little children who are brought to him, he actively invites them. In Luke 18:16, Jesus calls the children to come him after his disciples tried to keep them away. Jesus still invites and calls the children today. This song celebrates that invitation, and Jesus' call to all children. This song also celebrates the baptism of children as a response to that call, that Jesus may bless the children today through water and the Spirit, that they might receive the Kingdom of God.
