简介
Born January 5, 1994, Ross Olinger came out of the womb and into the world creating worlds of imagination within his head. Always tinkering with toys and puzzles and odd things you would never think could become a toy, Ross had an eye, and an ear, for different things that inspired different emotions. It would only make sense that he would come around to finding his father's guitar laying in the attic of his small, family house in Raleigh NC. Ross' first musical explorations came when his mother signed him up for a private piano class with a few other kids. Rapidly he grew in his understanding of music and his ability to compose his own original music. His favorite activity around music/piano was not his ability to play other's songs but to express his imagination in the craft of composition. Receiving a 4th place award in an international composition contest at the age of 7, Ross' love of music and composition only grew, grew, and grew. However if it weren't for his father playing Journey, Boston, Aerosmith and Rush in the car on the way to school, the guitar would've been delayed; but not for long. Something about the way it sounded and the way it created such a mood made him sit back in his seat of the Ford Explorer and just say "Wow..." Ross begged an begged for lessons on the guitar but his mother wouldn't spend the money to get him private lessons. She didn't want to encourage the growth of the guitar...too much sex, drugs, and rock n roll. Unlikely however, during the first week of the 6th grade Ross met a friend who equally shared his passion for music and showed him the bass guitar instead saying that he needed a bassist for a punk rock band he wanted to start in his basement. His mother finally caved and allowed Ross to take private bass lessons from an accomplished Blues Guitarist, Tad Walters. about a few months later it became evident that Ross was about to explode. His desire for the guitar and to write his own original compositions drove him to picking up his dad's guitar anyway. He taught himself for the better part of 3 months until he started to take lessons, after his mothers consent, from a very passionate teacher named Derek Butler. Years went by and Ross wrote and wrote and wrote. always practicing, his manic love for music and imagination stuck with him through all of the strange and awkward moments in middle school and high school. Practicing and writing hours on end daily his passion know's no bottom and his imagination knows no roof. Finally at the tender early age of 18, Ross knew that to become a surviving, professional musician is more than just his personal dream; it is his destiny. Music is not just a hobby for Ross. Music is a source of food for his soul, his upmost passion, his destiny since birth and his quarrel with the rest of the world.
