Since releasing their standout self-titled EP last year, L.A.’s Hot As Sun have been hard at work in their basement studio on their debut full-length record. The band, named one of Buzzbands LA’s“Bands To Watch” in 2013, and who have landed gigs opening for Gotye, Foster The People, Phantogram (and more) will be releasing their album, Night Time Sound Desire, via Last Gang Records on March 26th. With a mystery box of influences – from the pop stylings of The Chordettes to the subversive jangles of Harry Nilsson, and featuring hip-hop beat nods to the Beastie Boys and Jamie’s gospel roots in Mississippi – Hot As Sun have created an electro psych-pop sound via Spector that is distinctly all their own.
