简介
A proud product of Madison, WI, Anthony Lamarr takes the leap into the contemporary world of R&B. Raised on yesterdays sounds of soul and Motown, brought up Baptist, singing the gospels, and recently launching into the realm of rock with Mike Droho & The Compass Rose. Primarily known as "The Soundshaker", beat boxer extraordinaire, Anthony Lamarr debuts as a front man, with his solo album "Opening Night: A Symphony From Sorrow", which will make your emotions skip a beat as you fathom life and adversity, fusing inspiration and refining a vivid tomorrow. www.anthonylamarr.com The Musicians: Scott Lamps - bass, Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals Ida Jo - violins, Vocals Austin Douse - drums, Percussion Pete Ross - Saxophone Charley Wagner – trumpet Michael “Mouse” Adams, Jr. – harmonica, Didgeridoo Sean Dray - tuba Photography by Angela Purcell Photography (www.angelapurcell.com) CD & Website Design by Theodore Howard (www.theohoward.com) Make-Up Design by Lenika Banks To my mother and my father, a mere thank you does not suffice. You both have raised me to be a man with a kind heart and a gentle spirit. As I enter into a new phase of my life, I look back at the lessons you provided me. MY SORROW does not have to go ON AND ON. The CHOICES I make do not have to be an AFTERTHOUGHT. I will continue to rise in the morning, fighting off temptations of the flesh, because I know I can be BETTER THAN ME, I know I NEED TO CHANGE. Simple phrases from my past like DOO WAH, during my time with the NFC boys, have helped me to keep God by my side. As I’ve walked down the roads of pain and suffering, I have created my own JAZZY SONG of hope. Once in a while I would ask myself, WHY GO, but then I would be reminded to lean on others for support. MY FRIEND from college, you know who are, once pulled me out one of the largest holes of despair, and reminded me that its going to be ok. From there I realized that THE PLACE TO BE is here. It is anywhere your heart desires, as long as you make positive contributions. Whether you are THE SOUNDSHAKER or just a man that tries SKIPPING STEPS, DON’T WAIT to love or strive to ACHIEVE. Mom, Dad, you have been my EXAMPLES, and will continue to be, through MY TOMORROW. Love, Anthony Acknowledgements: First and foremost, I would like to thank God for his mercy and grace.
