**** Now also available on iTunes! **** Former Greenhill lead singer and 2008 American Idol® contestant Jason Rich releases his debut solo CD, an acoustic project full of original songs you'll love. Jason grew up in the rural town of Stout, Iowa. After a brief time in college on a music scholarship, Jason decided to take some time off from school and see where God and his music might lead him. He spent the next couple years leading worship at two area churches and at BASIC, a weekly on-campus event at the University of Northern Iowa. In the fall of 2006, Jason was invited to put together a band to play at Onefest, a Christian music festival held in Cedar Falls, Iowa. It was this invitation that led him to form the band Greenhill with several of his friends and bandmates. Greenhill played the main stage at Onefest on December 30, 2006, in front of several thousand people. In early 2007 Greenhill, with Jason providing most of the songwriting and lead vocals, recorded a CD entitled "The Days of a Tree," available here on CD Baby or on Amazon, iTunes, and other online retailers. Greenhill spent the spring and summer playing a wide variety of concerts, church camps, festivals, and other events around Iowa. By fall, Jason felt strongly led to pursue a solo career in music. He began writing more songs, and started thinking about recording a solo project. In December Jason recorded this EP, "I Am Waiting." Toward the end of the summer of 2007 Jason made a decision to audition for American Idol®. He attended the Omaha auditions; watch the show starting January 15, 2008 to see how he does!
