Armed with a new convention, North Londoner Itoa's debut EP, aPenga, lands on WW Records with a clear agenda: booty shaking music guaranteed to melt dancefloors. Following production work on Dominique Young Unique's latest mixtape, a remix commission for Yo Majesty and a massive edit of Konshens & Darrio's dancehall smash aGyal Sidung,a the Peng EP showcases Itoa and his unique interpretation of UK soundsystem culture. Vocals on the EP come courtesy of I Am Fya - a Mancunian with an unrelenting passion for dancehall riddims. While Peng takes influence from the powerful basslines of Jamaican dancehall, Itoa blends distinctive beat patterns with a variety of sounds from across the spectrum of modern electronic music. The end product is a hyperactive journey through jungle, trap and acid that is entirely his own. A remix of the track Raw (featuring I Am Fya) comes courtesy of veteran Dutch producer Fellow, (Basserk / Top Billin) who goes in hard with his signature bass heavy tropical sound, rounding off this release as a must have package.
