“When Marigolds Sing” is the title of an article about Nevenka, written by Joel Okida for FolkWorks. Nevenka is a popular women’s name throughout the Balkans, derived from “neven,” the marigold flower. The Nevenka singers are: Ronda Berkeley, Ellen Bridle, Anna Cross, Trudy Israel (Director), Jennifer Jurick (Assistant Director), Justine Kragen, Emi Macuaga, Shira O’Keefe, Jessica Ng, Susie North, Terri Prizant, Jessica Ruvinsky, Sue Ellen Smyle, Rebecca Stout, Liseli Walan, Molly White, Robin Van Zak, and Leslie Yeseta.
